As one of my greatest living role-models, the former President of the United States Barack Obama delves into his early life, path to the White House, and first four years in office in this hefty personal memoir. I still remember when Obama was first elected, back when I was just a fourth grader. Staying in office through my senior year of high school, his presidency left an indelible impression on my early life and was a key reason I personally wanted to run for office. This book has his thoughts (and his alone) as he presents an analysis of the reasons behind so many of his decisions, his thoughts on America and the world, and his beliefs on where we as a collective people are headed. The writing is dense at times, but given his beautiful style of illustrating the most minute of details, it makes for an enjoyable read.
